I got a lemon GE bottom freezer refrigerator from Home Depot. It had all sorts of problems from day one. The service partner of GE, Bodewell was out four times and could not fix the loud noise. GE refused to honor their warranty.

Terrible Fridge

We™€™ve had nonstop issues since we received this fridge. A few hours after it was installed the fan was broken. Then the ice maker took 4 days to make 1 batch of ice. The door wouldn™€™t stop squeaking and had to get replaced too. The water dispenser was damaged and not aligned. The temperature doesn™€™t get cool enough and my milk spoils within 2 days. And the deli drawer falls off the railing when you pull it off. Here is the response from GE engineering regarding the deli drawer: ™€œThis is WAD for the 3 door units, they pull straight out pretty easy. The multi-door counter depth (PXD22) has a different deli drawer system which does not pull straight out easily." GE has told me this is a known issue but sorry, deal with it. Totally unacceptable. The customer service had been terrible to work with as well.

I have had this refrigerator since March 6th and the repairman has been here three times. There is a hum every so often and they cannot seem to figure out what it is. Last time he was here he put in a new fan, but that did not resolve the problem. I hope it is not something that will go wrong after the end the warranty period. This the reason I gave the rating three stars and for the following issue. I like the design of the refrigerator except for one feature. The water feature is inside our refrigerator, our last refrigerator (not a GE) had a pad the cup/glass push into. The button on this model is awkward when trying to fill a cup or glass. It is also high up on the side of the refrigerator making it hard to see if a cup/water bottle is full. This refrigator has tons of space and deep shelving on the doors.

I needed a certain size to fit in my kitchen space and also wanted a fridge with ice machine in a bottom freezer. I have had too many problems with ice/water dispensers on the outside and they are impossible to clean. Bottom ice maker works really well so far. I will not be using the internal water; it does seem to be in an awkward position but I was aware of that when I purchase it. (I am having a filter installed under my kitchen sink) I was surprised at how spacious this was inside. Although it is similar to the dimensions of my older fridge, it hold so much more. It is super easy to clean inside and out. I really like the design inside. It is also very quiet running. I also want to say that I order this directly from GE and the customer service and delivery was outstanding,

Refrigerator at unsafe temperature

SO DISAPPOINTED! The refrigerator is set at 34 degrees but hovers around 39-40 even after the door is closed overnight. It also makes very loud humming and gurgling sounds. We've had the unit installed for about 2 years. We had a Bodewell technician come out and try to tell us that everything was fine. Everything is NOT fine, this unit does NOT maintain safe refrigerator temperatures.

Our new home limited what size fridge we could purhcase. Given the options, this GE fridge was the best. So far, my partner and I love it. It's wasy to clean and keeps the food fresh. While we would have liked an external water dispenser, having it inside the fridge hasn't been an issue. It was a littel blessing in disguise to not have a bigger fridge: less food waste. I also really like that it's bright inside, makes it easy to see all you have.

my GE Profile is not playing nice

I've had this refrigerator for several months and my main quibble is that it has never consistently produced ice. A bodewell technician inspected and ordered a replacement part. 2 weeks later the replacement part arrived and it was not compatible for this model; I called GE to confirm whether they sent the correct part. They confirmed that they mistakenly sent the wrong one. I am now in a holding pattern for another 2 weeks to receive that replacement for the replacement! When I asked if the part could be sent any sooner, customer service said "no". So disappointed that I have a new GE profile that is not fully functional. Maybe by Christmas we will have ice? That would be nice.

This refrigerator does not work as documented or as sold. The refrigerators internal temperature display does not work and it struggles to get to GE's recommended temperature setting in the refrigerator department. After being closed all night long and set at 34, it's luck to get to about 40 degrees - verified by a digital and an analog thermometer.

I have wanted a counter depth refrigerator for some time now and I finally settled on the GE profile with French doors. I was worried about the capacity, but quickly realized that I didn™€™t need a deeper refrigerator where I could store expired products. The shelves are nice and the refrigerator lighting is excellent. It would be nice with the freezer. Space was a little bit larger, but that™€™s the sacrifice you make for the counter depth.

It's a nice looking fridge, love that the water dispenser is inside. The ice maker in the freezer offers more space in the fridge section. However, with it being only 3 months old, we are having issues with the ice maker. There is one section of the ice maker that continues to get jammed, creating loud noises/humming coming from freezer. This happens at least once a day.

Do not buy. We had this refrigerator for less than 2 weeks and the freezer stopped working. The GE warranty service said they would put in for an emergency service request, which means someone would be out the same day. After 24 hours, I never heard back from them. Since, they don™€™t have weekend hours, we have to wait additional time for any type of resolution. Meanwhile, we have a $3000 refrigerator that doesn™€™t work properly and we™€™re out over $100 in spoiled food.

Great capacity and layout. Perfect dimensions for my area. Hard to fit some regular drinks on the shelving without removing the lower shelf completely - have put on the door instead. Would be better if the internal water could be filled by using your glass to hold down the "on" button. Awkward to press that and hold the glass.

This is a good fridge so far (45 days in). All the features, especially the ice maker, are in good working order. The only issue is the in-door water dispenser. The water spout is short and difficult to get a liquid container underneath so it won't spill. The water dispenser button takes my wife's full strength to depress. I am hoping that these features indicate structural sturdiness and a robust design but only time will tell.

Dont BUY GE TERRIBLE PRODUCTS. Bought this GE refrigerator from Airport Home Appliance in San Rafael, Calif. 2 years ago. The refrigerator compresor has gone out and the fridge does not work. Last year I received an offer for an extended warranty on our GE fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and 2 ovens. I bought them at a premium! I called GE and got to speak with an AI generated system as it would Not connect me to a live agent.. I was able to make an appointment using our Warranty Today was the appointment, the service man (from Sears) said that this is a cash call (CC) as he showed me on he cell phone.. He said that the bill would most likely be about $1000.00 dollars as he felt the compressor was out. I told him that I had a warranty and that I wasn't willing to pay that..He was sent on his way. Then the fun begins with the phone calls to GE Customer Support round and round we go "we are so Sorry, But heres a number for you to call" now we have another appointment for Sept 3, 2025.. BRAND NEW $3000.00 No working refrigerator and another week

FREEZES EVERYTHING

Have had the fridge for about a year and a half. IT FREEZES EVERYTHING!!! It just randomly decides to cool down and freezes everything in the whole fridge. I have had to throw out so much food because of it. I like the water and ice dispensers though.

second failure

I moved into a new home 8 years ago with a GE refrigerator. Water and Ice on the door, french doors and a pull out freezer drawer. It lasted about 4 years when the freezer compartment began to not stay cold..soft icecream. GE service sent out some excellent techs who replaced virtuallly everything in an effort to discover the problem. Their Quality Control dept seemed to want to figure the problem out. Never did but did not charge me for all the work. I was given a discount on a second unit basically the same but no ice of water in the door. About three months ago the ice maker stopped working. Not worth the money to fix, so I just got ice and filled up the tray. Last week the internal ights at the top of the unit failed. We still have lights for the crisper and Freezer. Two days ago the lights started working again but only for 24 hours. Called after hours, so I do not know how much it will cost to diagnose and fix the problem. There are several control boards for the lights or it might be just a loose wire..don't know. GE refrigerators have high ratings and the techs i have talked with like them better than LG or Samsung..but.....ought i not expect to have to fix a second unit in only 8 years. A Sears scratch and dent purchased 16 years ago keep on ticking in the garage!!

Love love the size of the door shelves. They allow me to keep all my jars/containers organized thus allowing me to use the interior shelves for other things. So even though a counter depth frig has less cubic feet. It is well designed for maximum space. Also, I love having an ice maker in the freezer with lots of ice. Who wants an ice maker in the outside door taking up room inside the frig? Not me!!!

Poor Workmanship

Delivery of first refrigerator had poor workmanship. I was very disappointed and had to deal with rescheduling a new delivery. I went 3 weeks without a fridge. But second refrigerator seems to be fine. I still see some flaw in the glue.

Best Counter Depth Model

We needed a counter depth model and this GE was the best. The shelving is adjustable so it allows you to store taller bottles and drink pitchers. We like the deli/cheese drawer as well. The freezer has enough space to store many items and the some shelf on the door is nice when you have small items so they will not get lost in the bottom of the freezer.
