Great Unit poor Service

I've had this fridge freezer for about a month now. The fridge drawer has unfortunately not worked since Day 1. Freezer drawer has been fine. I understand these things can happen. Placed a service call on July 2nd the tech was unable to diagnose the issue on the spot, have not heard back since, 12 days later despite numerous calls to customer service. This is unacceptable service.

Perfect choice, no regrets!

We™€™ve had this under-counter refrigerator for last two years, but I waited before posting a review until I was confident there were no problems. The fridge has been great, aesthetically and functionally. Each drawer has an independent temperature control, so the top drawer holds produce, dairy and other foods reached for daily, and we have mostly condiments and beverages in the lower drawer. A convenient feature is the door open signal that sounds if a drawer is ajar™€"it™€™s a pleasant chime, not a blaring alarm. It™€™s reminded me a number of times when I didn't push the door closed. The other convenience is the controls are easy to see and reach; they™€™re right on top of the drawer so when you open a drawer you can check the temperature and adjust it if you need to. One bit of advice: we had this professionally installed. It™€™s level, flush with the cabinets, and no problems with screws breaking or destroying the panel. Sometimes its the person using the tools who™€™s to blame, not the appliance.

I™€™m not very happy with this item. Bought all KitchenAid products and not one had an operating manual and it™€™s difficult to find info on how to use the induction cook top and wall oven. For this fridge/freezer, the ice continues to make ice even though the basket is full and it falls into the back and then the floor when pulled out. No operating manual to tell me how to reduce or turn off the ice machine.

Doubt I will ever buy another Kitchenaid appliance

Well ice maker number 6, after the original unit, three replacement units, and two ice maker replacements, plus several unsuccessful service calls, I finally have ice after almost two years. Of course that's only been for about a month...so we'll see how long it holds.

Bad hardware, great fridge.

Works great and ice machine is amazing. But the panel ready came with cheap hardware! Very costly mistake because one of the screws broke during installation! 3000$ fridge with cheap screws is unacceptable. If you buy this, use your own screws!

A NIGHTMARE

I bought this fridge a little under a year ago. This fridge NEVER even made one piece of ice. A repair man from Whirpool came 3 times in attempt to repair with no success. They gave me a brand new replacement and guess what same problem. NO ICE. How this fridge is not recalled is unexplainable!!!!

I really like my refrigerator/freezer drawers. This is my second set as the first did not work. This set seems to work. The only issues I have found is some of the items in the refrigerator tend to freeze if way back and the freezer tends to pull ice to the back of the machine where I can™€™t get to it rather than stop making it. The freezer does work and the refrigerator is nice-

2023, Feb - delivered. Aug - (6 mo) still not working. The ice machine produced ice the 1st week, then stopped. Appliance repair has been out twice. Not able to fix it. Now waiting, and waiting for a part. Meanwhile, carpentry has built the fridge in, etc. and we had to buy another countertop ice machine... not really the look/function we paid for nor wanted. It was faulty from day one and should have been replaced right away, but that didn't happen. I'm not happy. Sometimes things are faulty and can't be fixed in a timely fashion. K.A got paid but I did not get the product I paid for. Not right; not fair.

I bought this unit during the renovation of my kitchen. It has never worked from the day I bought it. I've had people out to service it. It was determined it has a bad "switch" and "control box" back in April. The parts have still not arrived and the unit has never functioned. At this point I would expect a replacement unit.

Noisy, ice maker does not work

Had I known how noisy this appliance would be I never would have purchased. Ice cube maker produced exactly 24 ice cubes before it quit working. Repair person to arrive Friday, wish me luck. It used to be appliances would function reliably for at least 10 years, now you™€™re lucky if they even work when you first plug them in. Sign me $3300 in the red.

Happy - BUT.....

Really was looking forward to this appliance to give me that little bit of "extra" fridge and freezer space. It does that, but because the ice maker takes up 1/2 the freezer drawer, it makes sense to use that as the main one for the house. Unfortunately, it made two ice cubes and has stopped working. I will need to get someone in to repair after waiting for 9 months for it to come - UHG!

We are about to build the cabinets/countertops around this little fridge/freezer ... but it all has come to a halt. It made ice fine for the first 2 weeks and then just stopped. We went through all the recommended troubleshooting, then had the repair guys out. They replaced the ice maker but weren't sure that was the actual problem. The ice maker is still not working! Super frustrating. Wasnt a cheap fridge. Things should just work.

I am beyond frustrated with my kitchenaid experience. My icemaker never worked. In october 2022 i called in for service while still in warranty. Company sent service tech to replace icemaker. That didnt work. They came back to switch water tube. Didnt work. Cane back again no parts. Another time wrong parts. Cane back again and said its the water valve. After all that, we are in May 2023 and after 6 visits, i am told its wiring harness and not repairable. I called kitchen aid and they tell me its not replacable because its outside warranty window and they can only do 15% discount for new unit. It was within warranty period when i called it in. The tech kept cominb in and misdiagnosing over 7 months to finally figure out its the wiring harness all along but they say too bad thats not our problem. I cant beleieve i paid over $4k for defective unit and the warranty is not being honored even though defect was reported within waranty window

Bout the unit at Kitchenaid dot com and getting questions answered was literally impossible. I got conflicting answers to the same question from associates via online chat and on the 800 number on multiple occasions. Made for an EXTREMELY aggravating and unpleasant purchase which will weigh heavily on any future purchase considerations.

Defective fridge

Sadly we bought this more than a year ago and when it finally arrived and was installed it was missing a tube from the ice maker and it flooded our home and destroyed a beautiful oak floor. We have had several unsuccesful attempts to fix it, but in the end are now waiting for a replacement fridge. Neither the appliance store nor Kitchenaid would help us with the floor and we were told to contact our home insurance. We will have to pay our deductible and are unlikely to be able to replace with an equivalent floor. And we still two years later don't have a working fridge.

Ice maker not working on arrival

I saw this appliance and decided it would be perfect for the wet bar in our basement apartment so I ordered it. Got the panel ready version and had panels custom made. Waited and waited for delivery (I knew I had to, so that™€™s not an issue). It was delivered and the ice maker doesn™€™t work. Ive had plumber out to look at it and had to make calls and deal with repair - I have a kitchenaid service call scheduled, a window from 8a-4p (thanks for that, kitchenaid - nothing like sending a broken appliance, making you wait on hold forever to get it repaired then make the repair window ALL DAY LONG). So, I can™€™t say I™€™m happy right now but I do believe that when I does work, it will be a great addition to our home. Wish it wasn™€™t such a hassle, especially for the $3500 price tag.
