The range hood is fine. Does an adequate job of sucking. The 1st 3 hoods we received were damaged, which really sucked.
The thing that really really sucks is that we were not able to get a refrigerator to match the rest of our Kitchenaid products (dishwasher,range, microwave, and 2 ovens. The delivery date kept moving back. Fortunately , the GE Cafe is a pretty close match, and we really like it

The overall hood is great. The way the logo is now attached to the hood via an adhesive sticker for each letter is going to be a problem. The sharp corners of the letters catch easily on a microfiber towel. Whomever thought this was a good idea, clearly didn't think it through. I hope this is not done for other appliances.

Exceptionally poor design leads to loud noise but no real air-flow or venting!
This is such an epic disappointment. I would sell it for $1.00 if i could. Sadly got shafted with this useless accessory as part of new construction. It does not work at all. Inexplicably, they installed a large metal plate over the fans, which blocks all airflow except for a narrow sliver at the front. Looks cool, but does not work at all unless you drop the cover.

Very fancy looking for a brand new house i recently bought. It's sleek design added Xfactor to me as a buyer of the new home. The exhaust is very powerful it does the job. The overhead light is bright as it should be. Definitely recommend this product.

Moved into a new home in March 2024. Had a builder upgrade to KichenAid Hood Model KVWB406DSS4. After cooking a couple of meals the grease pours down to the backsplash tiles. A service technician came and checked and he stated that this is normal for this design since it is only 400 Cfm and nothing he could fix. Bad Design and VERY DISSAPOINTED.

I bought this wall mount hood in advance to the kitchen renovation. The builders were making custom cabinetry so all appliances needed to be here to measure. We finaly were able to install the new commercial stove the tile was all set for the hood. We opened it up and could find no instructions or hardware to install it We have no template for rear mounting,vent cover bracket is also missing, no wall anchors, no spacer to mount is also missing, no outlet plate, the damper for the outside and electrical plug which i knew to order separately has been delivered.
I contacted customer service and explained the situation, was told they would send me the missing parts. 4 weeks later I am told they are working on it and I have a very expensive floor model range hood that I can get no parts for or help with. I bought so many appliances for this remodel and am shocked at the treatment of the missing parts. I do not know what to do at this point and really need to get my parts from somewhere. Very big disappointment Kitchenaid, you could do better on this one.

Good quality unit overall, KitchenAid packaging is awful. Quiet fan + washable filter elements are a Plus. However, we received (2) new units for our new home and both had corner damage from inadequate packaging failing to protect the corners of the hood. 1st unit was returned, damage on 2nd unit was on rear corner next to the wall, so we kept it. We'd been waiting over a month after closing to replace the stopgap Whirlpool unit installed by our builder. Installer knew to unpack and inspect the corners first as they are commonly damaged!

I have been a long time user of Kitchenaid products and have typically been a very happy customer. However, one thing I would say about this hood vent is that the buttons are not the greatest. I don't like that I can have all three speeds for the vent fan pressed at one time. I should only have to press one button one time (including the power button) to accomplish my goal.

We chose this range hood upgrade for our new home. It functions well and provides great light. However, the fact that the exhaust cover is not one solid piece is disappointing. There is a huge seam half-way to the ceiling, and we have standard 9' ceilings. Additionally, the 2 pieces vary a slight bit in color as well. We also thought that the hood itself was damaged / bent - but it is just the way the corners are constructed.

Stay away from this range hood (and all KA products for that matter). Mine failed after less than 2.5 years due to a fried circuit board (Also had an oven/microwave combo that failed within one month). The KA-contracted vendor informed me it happens all the time with their products and quoted a price of $800 to fix it. KA Customer Service offered me a 15% coupon to buy a new one™¦some sort of ™Loyalty Program™ where they continue to make more $ and I get another product that will stop working in no time. Their products look nice so if you view these things as Home DÃcor go for it, but if you actually plan to use the appliance and you know, want it to work, go with another company where the prices actually match the value.

We purchased this right after Thanksgiving and had it installed last week following a tile backsplash installation. It has sleek lines and two LED bulbs that have a single setting. It's bright or bright. Additionally the push button for the on/off is slightly off kilter and it has to be pushed "just right" for the lights to go on. I am disappointed in that. When the installer showed me how the fan works, as soon as he turned it on that there was clacking noise even with the fan on the lowest setting. It was totally unacceptable. He told me he could remove the flapper vent cover at the base of the unit without compromising the performance. He did that and the clacking has stopped. I'm not really happy about this purchase. It was expensive and I feel stuck with it. Not the way I want to feel with a brand new purchase. Positives: it looks great, it's functional, but I feel like the reviews I read were misleading.

Came as an upgrade from home builder package and I trusted the brand name for quality. Has been in use now for only 2 months and we don't cook at home every day. Now have grease dripping from the back onto tile wall. Grout is ruined and looks like s**t. Cheap apartment contractor-grade joke filters are kept spotless and cleaned daily (think they would have better filters for the price of unit). Inspected inside hood and not a spot of grease anywhere. Loud fan especially at high speed and don't do a very good job of drawing out odors - whole house reeks after cooking one thing. Backdraft flap bounces all day and night. What a piece of junk!

One of my favorite features of my new KitchenAid 36" Wall-Mount, 3- Speed Canopy Hood is the bright lights. With my previous hood, I could barely see the surface of my stove top. Secondly, this fume hood is much quieter than my previous hood with the exception of the highest motor speed.
