Not as good as my old one

The dryer was purchased for me by a waterproofing company which ruined my old dryer while attempting to repair a problem created by its installers. It was hard to figure out how to select the cycle as the information does not appear in the online owners manual. I am still experiencing difficulty getting my clothes dry as the sensor does not detect that not everything in the load is dry. My old one had fewer cycle choices but the laundry always dried. I had to order a much more expensive model than what I needed just to get a dryer with a light which used to be standard on all my previous dryers. The lights on my previous dryers came on automatically when the door was opened. I have to turn the light on manually on this dryer. Consumer Reports highly recommends this model so I suppose that the other dryers it reviewed

Ok dryer but many issues due to poor installation

Having used this dryer for the last year we have had many issues with the dryer. Most of these issues turned out to be the poor installation job done by Lowes. Once these were fixed the dryer started working as it should. The dryer didnt come with a user manual and we have had trouble trying to figure out how to use the settings. There needs to be either a better manual or a youtube video that can be watched. The door only opens part way when opening it from the top. This seems like a pretty useless feature to me. How can we turn off the annoying music when the cycle is finished? It was advertise with a $50 rebate but when we applied for it we were denied as ineligible. So I wonder if its really as energy efficient as advertised?

Our 2nd LG dryer

This unit was a replacement for a previous LG unit we had for about 5 years. there was nothing wrong with the old unit but we wanted a matching set so we bought a washer dryer pair. Like its predecessor we love the chimes for when the load is finished. Controls are intuitive and easier to use. This dryer is also quieter than the previous model and we love the visible door feature so you can see inside. The lighting in the drier is also much brighter and improved. Cant think of a single negative.

Electronic programming sorely lacking

Purchased 8 months ago and it has been mediocre at best. Electronics are sketchy and programming is buggy. Would turn itself on and off 5 - 10 times in less than a minute or run for 20 seconds and stop. Has been working relatively well since performing a hard program reset no unplugging doesnt do anything to fix the bad brains with LG tech services but still holding our breath. This dryer generates a lot of lint that gets through the lint trap and fouls the vent and screen downstream so were concerned about what it is doing to our clothing with repeated drying cycles over time. Cannot recommend. We bought the matched washer/dryer set and the dryer cost a good bit more than the washer. Defies traditional logic. Its been a very frustrating

purchased it brand new. it worked great for 11 months. broke down. 3 weeks later it was repaired under mfr 1 year warranty. the repair only lasted 3 months. It broke down again same issue this time we filed a claim under our 3 year warranty. The parts were ordered and tech showed up to repair and said wrong parts ordered. He would be back in two weeks to repair. he also dented the top cover severely during his initial visit. We pulled machine out into our garage and had to buy new units to keep family of 6 with clean clothes during this extended down time. once machine is fixed we will sell it used to someone else. super disappointed with experience.

Worth the money

This is the best dryer I have ever bought. Since I bought the matching washer the washer tells the dryer the settings and then the dryer automatically sets the corresponding settings and I just have to push start. They are both connected to Alexa so clear across the house Alexa notifies me when each are done. Of course it drys much faster than my old one too.

A bad product with bad installation and bad servic

Unfortunately my experience with this dryer was very poor. I believe it was a combination of a bad unit with bad installation and bad service. When the dryer was installed the technician indicated that the vent hose it came with could not be used. Therefore another hose had to be used. It turned out that the hose that was used was too long and had too many bends in it. This caused excess heat to build up in the dryer and lead to black scorch marks in the interior of an appliance that was less than 2 months old. Next the dryer developed a habit of randomly turning itself on and off for no reason. Sometimes it would happen during a drying cycle and sometimes it would just happen randomly when the machine was not in use. It got so bad that you would have to restart the machine 6-7 times just to complete a 30 minute cycle. This was the issue that lead to the warranty call. LG sent a technician from a company called Williston to diagnose the problem. He took the machine apart and couldnt find anything wrong with it. However in putting it back together he damaged an exterior control panel as well as 2 buttons that no longer worked. Another technician was then sent out and he did not even attempt to work on the machine. Therefore after having he dryer for only a little over 2 months I had an appliance with non-working buttons scorch marks a damaged panel and some type of electrical fault that made the machine turn itself on and off. LG kept insisting that the machine could be repaired. But I was not interested in so many repairs on a brand new unit. After hours of phone calls I was eventually given a new unit. So far I have had the new unit for 3 days. It seems fine so far but I have never in my life had an experience like this with a product

Horrible experience with LG dryer

Having had the dryer for only slightly more than 3 months it is being replaced under warranty. What a disappoiting experience Apparently when the dryer was installed the wrong vent hose was used. This result in scorching inside the dryer. After i had the dryer for about 2 weeks it started randomly turning itself on and off. At first this was simply an observation. However it soon started to happen during drying cycles to the point that i would have to restart it 6-7 times to finish an ordinary load of laundry. I warranty call was made and the technician who came did not find anything wrong with it. However he had never worked on a gas dryer before a fact i only learned after he had finished. As a result of his work 2 buttons stopped working and an exterior panel was damaged. A second technician sent by LG similarly could not solve these problems. So in sum after 2 months I had a dryer with interior butns that would randomly turn itself on and off with 2 broken buttons and a damaged panel. Nonetheless this was still not enough for LG to agree to replace the dryer under warranty. That took several more hours of phone calls. The dryer is finally set to be replaced on Tuesday. I hope the replacement actulal yworks

Awful experience and product

What a horrible experience with what I thought we be a good product. We had bought an LG washing machine and it is fantastic. When it came time to get a new dryer we decided to give an LG dryer a shot. It turns out that the install team for the product used the wrong vent hose. This caused excess heat to build up and burn the interior of the dryer. Additionally the dryer had a separate issue that it would randomly turn itself on and off. Sometimes this would happen during a drying cycle and sometimes when the machine was not in use. I have never had an experience with any product that it could turn itself on and off on its own but this one could A warranty claim was made and a technician was sent who had never worked on a gas dryer. He found a mid-assembled internal panel. However he was unable to diagnose the problem. Unfortunately after disassembling the dryer and then putting it back together he damaged another panel and broke 2 buttons. A second technician was sent who could not diagnose the problem either but assured me that everything was fine when it was not. Ultimately after a lot of back and forth LG agreed to replace the dryer free of charge under warranty. If this dryer wasnt the companion one to my washing machine I would have moved on completely to another brand. Of course although I was told 2 days ago that I will be getting a replacement dryer I still do not have any idea when that will be. Im crossing my fingers that my replacement dryer is at least a satisfactory experience.

Needs lots of time to dry

Was so disappointed with this dryer even had the company exchange it for another one but that one worked just as poorly. The timer kept jumping from the prescribed time to 5 minutes left so it took a couple of hours to dry a load. Eventually I got it dried on manual. I could continue with this setting the rest of my life but I dont think thats the right thing to do. Im returning this one also and have purchased a different model. Keeping my fingers crossed this one works.

Does not dry the clothes. Keeps changing the time on any setting. Goes from 30 minutes or 100 minutes to 5 minutes on every setting and then turns off. I have been using the manual setting to get my clothes dry but I have to check it several times and perhaps add more time. I read the reviews on the product after I experienced this problem and 5 other people had the same issue. If there are now 6 of us I would think LG would do something about it.

I bought this dryer 7 months ago and now it is starting to have noise issue. I contacted customer service to request a service and they told me to go to the YouTube link trying to fix the issue and if it cant be fixed then I should let them know so they can send the technician to my house. I did send back to LG the message that the noise issue was still there but never heard anything from them back. I paid 1600.00 for a pair of LG Washer and Dryer but just 7 months later It is having a problem.

I bought this LG dryer Model DLG7401WE on October 26 2023 at lowes for $798.00 and I am very happy with my purchase. This dryer has a large capacity of 7.4 cu. ft. that can handle big loads of laundry. It also has a sensor dry system that automatically adjusts the drying time and temperature to prevent over-drying and save energy. One of the features I like best is the cycle selector knob that has default settings for each cycle which I can change if desired. For example I can choose the normal cycle and then adjust the dry level temperature and time according to my preference. The dryer also has a wrinkle care option that keeps the clothes tumbling after the cycle ends to prevent creasing. The dryer is easy to use quiet and efficient. I would highly recommend this dryer to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile appliance. PS: Consumer Report recommends this model

One feature youre going to love - the hamper door

I bought this dryer to match the washer of the same model when I had to replace my old washer. Its a great dryer has lots of extra features but theres one thing on it that you might think you dont care about but once you use it youll wonder why no one else has thought of this. The hamper door. The door latch works in the usual side opening manner but it also opens like a hamper which makes dropping the clothes from the washer into the dryer so much easier. I love it I chose LG based on company reputation for quality and reliability. Dries quickly using the Wrinkle Care button keeps the clothes from getting wrinkled if you cant get to the dryer right away to unload it. The drum light is really bright - lights up the entire laundry room It only stays on for a minute or so when youre unloading but if you still need it theres a button to turn it back on manually. This model has smart features which enable the user to link the dryer to a smart phone app to manage the dryer. I didnt choose to do this. Note - if youre going to want to use the smart features capture the QR code before your dryer is installed if its going into a tight space. The QR code is on the back of the machine.

I have had my dryer for over a month and have been playing with the different controls. I love it The size is amazing and love how the door opens. My previous dryer had the door that folded down and was always in the way.

Good dryer great features

I purchased this LG dryer to match the LG washer I purchased last year due to the fact of its good reviews and my satisfaction with the washer. The unit looks works well quiet and from I can see efficient. About the only setting I dont use is the energy saving setting where the machine just uses air to dry the clothes at first then heat if you dont mind your clothes being damp its fine. To my knowledge the dryer will use more electricity which costs more than gas to run the machine longer. I do use the WI-FI option on both I find it very useful PS I also have a LG refrigerator with Wi-FI also although there are not a lot of things you can do with wi-fi the settings now being used work just great. Overall I am more than happy I have chosen LG as the manufacture of my appliances.

Got this to match our LG washer great features love the WI FI quiet. Only feature I have turned off is the energy saver reason is it runs with just air no heat at first takes longer obviously using more electricity we have a gas dryer so far the gas is less expensive than gas with that off drys great you can even have Alexa announce to you when the cycle is finished.

Cant really go wrong with an LG Appliance

Like most modern appliances this dryer has what seems to be an overly complex control panel. Is it really necessary to have a wi-fi enabled clothes dryer? Apart from that the dryer is very quiet and does a good job drying clothes. I really like the dual action door that can swing fully to the side for easy unloading or partially open vertically for easy loading from the washer. Nice.

A Little complicated

The first day my husband connected the dryer we had an issue with the door sensor called Lg the person was extremely rude learned me to send proof that an electrician check the outlets first in order to send a technician when I kept telling her the washer was working fine and explained how when we hold the door the dryer worked fine.

They offer free installation for Gas dryer however they delivered it we have propane gas. Their RXO delivery team informed us they dont install propane. After 30+ calls I now have to return or pay myself for plumber to hook up. Never again

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and found features that the unit I replaced it with did not. A glass front door a light in the drum and a door that opens forward aways so that one could add something without opening the whole door.
