Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future.
Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies.
It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.
Appliances
can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new
appliances
should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Very dry clothes
Hexamerous2
11/9/2024
I was a little nervous to buy this product after reading some bad reviews saying the clothes did not dry. That has certainly not been my experience. If anything it seems the sensor dry keeps drying after what I feel the clothes are completely dry and I will sometimes stop the dryer and take the clothes out. I have my dryer hooked up so that the water goes down the drain rather than collecting in the reservoir and this is really great. The instructions are very clear on how to install this so that it does go down the drain as there is only one cap that is removed from the bottom of the t-piece on the side of the dryer after disconnecting the tube that goes to the reservoir and placing it on top. I would just say Im very happy and I cant understand the bad reviews but maybe LG made some improvements or I just got lucky. Anyway I really love my dryer. The dryer has the stacking brackets that are used to stack on top of the washing machine. Nothing extra to buy.

Very nice quiet dryer best dryer we own since we moved to the USA. The clothing comes out dry it takes a bit longer than the old age vent dryers. The dryer is energy star rated no increase in the electric bill quite the opposite.
Important one has to empty the water catch drawer after each drying cycle.

Although the dryer itself works great. I received it with a broken tab on the door. Dealing with the help desk was a nightmare. Twelve years ago I remodeled my kitchen and purchased all LG appliances. They are all made to last Last month I decided to update my washer and dryer. I absolutely LOVE my ventless dryer. The clothes dry nearly wrinkle free and towels come out so soft that I dont need fabric softener anymore. Now my iPhone alerts me when the cycle is complete

First and last LG appliance order. Multiple phone calls with LQ and Lowes. The stacking kit should have been included with the unit. They processed the stacking kit claim and then when I called for an update the order was cancelled due to improper part number. Called again and have to go through the whole process of explaining the stacking kit was not included. Told I needed to order the stacking kit but they couldnt give me the part number. Still waiting on a resolution. Likely returning

We have had this LG clothes dryer for a little over a year. Have already had two different repair people out to try to get it to dry items. The first repair person got it working again the second one just seemed to give up and said not to use energy saver and maybe that would help. Literally worst piece of equipment ever.

Good washer but Condenser Dryer broke at 4 months
MRPS
8/23/2024
I purchased an LG washer dryer set less than 6 months ago. The washer has worked just great however the ventless/condenser dryer has failed and is inoperable until warranty work is complete. I have been without a dryer for 3 weeks now while the authorized LG warranty service provider orders an entirely new condenser. We noticed that it was heating but that the moisture was building up in the drum and no water was going into the water container at all. Dealing with LG online was frustrating. Meanwhile I wait and use a dryer at the laundromat. I was totally not expecting this from LG.

Love this dryer but consider extend warranty

We bought this dryer with a frontload washer. We were very happy with our purchase for the first 13 months and then the dryer started leaking water. On my first call to LG they said I would need to pay a service fee that was a significant cost. I called back a week later and explained to the rep that its only one-month post warranty. The rep agreed to a complimentary repair. The repair person found a leaky hose and told me to run a load of wet laundry to see if it leaked I did and it leaked. It took me four more calls to LG to get a second visit. They kept telling me someone would call and setup an appointment but it wasnt until my fourth call that they did. The repair person found a second leaking hose. No leaking since the second hose was fixed.

Unfortunate Product and Service

Unfortunately Ive had a very disappointing experience with LG. So much so that I will no longer buy any of their products. They were initially reasonable in that they sent someone out at no charge to try and fix my LG Ventless Dryer 4 months after the warranty was up it was only 1 year and 4 months old although it was not fixed and they have been a broken record since. The warranty dept. made it clear that they must send someone out to try to fix it again or honor their warranty policy.... neither of which theyve done. Ive now read other reviews similar to this and similar problems with the same dryer. I dont understand why they just wont replace it at this point. Theyd prefer to have a very unhappy customer than to replace it. I cannot get a hold of anyone that can do anything about this. Even the Presidents office as they call it... an employee named Bernique didnt stick to their word of getting back to me no later than 8/14/24 with a resolution. Today is the 15th. Im beyond words. Done.

I purchased this set as a gift for my daughter after she had her first baby.
I purchased through Best Buy and had 4 service calls through them without ever fixing the problem. I contacted LG directly and finally had a service tech who knew what they were doing and he replaced pretty much everything. That lasted a few months before the noise started again. It can only dry 2-3 bath towels at a time. Far from energy efficient. Ive called customer service again without any resolution. I honestly feel I have a lemon. I cannot recommend this product. Very disappointed in dryer as well as follow up from customer service.

I bought this just over two years ago 2 year warranty for an AirBnB rental that I have. It has not been used much at all and after several complaints that it wouldnt turn on I hired someone to look at it. He gave me an estimate pf $650 and suggested I call LG. I did but they refused to consider its use only the two yr warranty and suggested I get someone else to look at it.

DO NOT BUY Not worth the price and hassle.
a267
7/17/2024
DO NOT BUY It will stop working properly within a few months. Its a high-maintenance machine and all the agents will say to help is that it may be this because you are not doing that. Others have commented on a manufacturing issue with this machine including condensation in the lint catcher that must be dry to work properly. The price tag high maintenance and lag of help on issues are not worth the price you will pay for your time effort and waste of money.

This. Is without a doubt the worst dryer I have ever had. I was told by the salesperson at Lowes that it would take longer than a normal dryer to get a load of laundry done and for the first year I had it it was taking about an hour and 1/2 to 2 hours to dry but now it takes about 12 hours. I have the Lowes Protection Plan and called them for help. They sent out an LG repair service 3 times without being able to fix it and have denied my claim. I am going to protest the decision but for now I am stuck with this awful dryer. I have no complaints about the LG washer I bought with it.

HELPFUL TIP
Jamie W
6/18/2024
TIP: Just want to say to all of those commenting that the dryer stopped drying their clothes and was leaking after 1 month . . . it did the same for me . . . but I know the solution I was at my wits-end and so discouraged I have had a lot of dryer drama over the past 5 years this one was a replacement of a previous lemon different brand/type. As a last resort I deep cleaned the filters and it totally fixed the problem So now about once every week or two I run both lint filters under warm water and spray with a gentle cleanser or Dawn dish soap then I scrub lightly with a toothbrush and rinse thoroughly. Getting rid of the film that builds up even if you clean out the lint after ever load greatly improves the airflow and leaves your clothes DRY Mine are hot to the touch now--just the way I like them And the machine doesnt leak anymore because condensation isnt building up. Try this and see if it fixes the issue with your clothes not drying and water leaking.

I purchased this dryer in January 2024. Within one month it was not drying my clothes. The entire inside of the drum was full of moisture. I called LG to come and service it and I was told by the tech that there was no error code and that is what happens to these dryers. I am completely Disappointed and unhappy with this purchase. Now it is too late for me to return it and I need to purchase another dryer. This is a brand new dryer and this is totally unacceptable. This dryer has a one year warranty and nothing at all has been offered to me to exchange this. I am stuck with a dryer that is absolutely useless to me. LG has done nothing to help me with this situation.

Purchased this dryer 2 years ago. Worked for two years and quit. Had the 5 year warranty and no one knew how to repair it. Started a claim the first week of May and still trying to get it resolved. For one example was going to send a tv repair technician to repair our dryer... not a very happy customer at this point.

5/24/2024
We bought this dryer two years ago and also bought the extended warranty. The dryer quit heating. We started the process of getting a repair person out the first part of May. With several emails and a couple of failed appointments a technician came out only to say that there was nothing wrong with the dryer and we needed to clean the condenser which we had done it still would not heat. He said try about 5 more times and left without evening knowing if it would help. It did not Have cleaned the condenser 5 times and the dryer still does not heat. If we would have known that we were not going to be able to get a repair person to help with a repair we would never have purchased this dryer. Finally on May 24 they decided to refund the dryer so we can get a new one.

Do not buy. I understand that ventless dryers take longer but the machine no longer can dry a single item left running for 8+ hours. The inside is always damp. We are now forced to dry everything by hanging it up outside. Customer service wants to charge $400 just to send a repair technician to look at the machine that is barely over a year old. We are probably better off buying a brand new dryer from a different brand.

5/6/2024
Avoid LG by any means. Worst company ever. I bought this dryer directly from LG for $1033.88 USD after deliver and extended warranty. Their delivery service has never delivered it. They canceled delivery 3 times without cause the night before. Nearly 3 weeks later I finally gave up trying to work with LG and asked to cancel the whole purchase. Now they are telling me that to get the refund I have to wait for the dryer that I have never seen to be sent back to their main warehouse by their delivery service that never delivers. This could take up to 2 weeks if it ever happens. Then it will take up to 5 business days for the refund to be issued.
If you want to put a one thousand dollar charge on your card for five weeks pay interest on it and see nothing for it then by all means buy something from LG. If youd rather not STAY AWAY from this company.

The future of drying
Gandyman
4/15/2024
Im kind of a gadget guy and understand the heat pump principle - fundamentally this is an inside-out refrigerator with a fan. The manual is lacking in some ways. An example is the moisture sensors...the user is told to keep them clean and how to do this and what to avoid and why but there is NO indication of where they are or what they look like. I had to do some digging on the internet to learn this. There is no indication whether or not the drum will periodically reverse direction during any drying cycle like a former dryer of mine did The nice lady on the chat help line did not know other than the initial drum reversals during the initial startup. *Someone* should know but who? Overall we are satisfied but still unsure of the power consumption compared to the older style external vent electric dryer. Clothes are always warm coming out...sometimes seem humid depending on the cycle. Dont have a smartphone so cannot summon some of the features.

We have always had trouble with the dryer drying clothes. It is one year out of warranty and LG gave me 4 service companies to call and NONE called me back. One given to me was 400 miles away. I have spoken to at least 3 different customer service reps and about the only consistent advise is clean the filter in the back. I will never again buy a ventless dryer. You would think they would last more than a year and LG at least be able to provide a reliable service company.

After extensive research on heatpump / ventless dryers we determined that this 4.2 cf dryer was the one to order. We had an LG washer dryer in our previous home and really liked them. We knew that a ventless dryer experience would most likely be different from conventional dryers so were prepared. We are so pleased We ordered from LG which was quick and easy opting for free delivery and paid for set-up. Everything went smoothly. We decided to put the dryer through its paces with bedding - really anticipating it would take awhile for everything to dry. Yes this dryer is smaller - we needed smaller dimensions for our laundry space - and bedding is bulky especially king size sheets and coverlet. Sheets first - I put in 2 flat and 1 fitted selected bulky and checked at the 30 minute mark. I pulled 2 sheets out leaving 1 in and checked again 30 minutes later - sheet was dry so I swapped in the next checked at 30 - dry - so swapped in the 3rd again dry in 30. Not bad. The bulky cycle had said something like 2 hrs 55 minutes so we were done in half the time. Next the coverlet. It too got dried on bulky and took about the same amount of time - 90 minutes. We typically air dry the rest of our laundry - better for the environment and clothes but With this dryer I now know I can dry something much more quickly in a pinch - as well as sanitize which is great with some of our grubby work clothes. I checked our energy usage and wow very nice. Much lower than the previous dryer. We opted to use the water container vs the drain hose. Just easier for our set-up and its very easy to empty. Just did the first Condenser Care process - also easy. Tip: Get a funnel with a flexible hose for this purpose if you dont already have one. The one we got was less than $5. Very happy with our purchase.

The bulky cycle had said something like 2 hrs 55 minutes so we were done in half the time. Next the coverlet. It too got dried on bulky and took about the same amount of time - 90 minutes.
We typically air dry the rest of our laundry - better for the environment and clothes but With this dryer I now know I can dry somethung much more quickly in a pinch - as well as santize which is great with some of our grubby work clothes.
I checked our energy usage and wow very nice. Much lower than the previous dryer.
We opted to use the water container va the drain hose. Just easier for our set-up. Its very easy to empty. Just did the first Condenser Care process - also easy. Tip: Get a funnel with a flexible hose for this purpose if you dont already have one. The one we got was less than $5.
Very happy with our purchase.

Bought a month ago and its running smoothly. Very quiet operation and love the alerts on my phone that the cycle is complete. It also reminds you to clean the lint filter under water every 10 loads.

The unit works just fine however we plugged in the external drainage of condensed water but no water flows thru it. Instead the water container fills up with water.

Great dryer. Just need to remember not to overload with clothes since the air comes from the back of the dryer.

Four 4 hours to dry a load of small towels. How is that energy saving or good for the towels?
I next dried one sheet and two pillowcases - 2 hours. At 58 minutes I checked them and they were OVER -dry. If you want to keep checking the dryer every few minutes to make sure your clothes arent over-dried and ruined or if you like paying more to your utility company buy this.
My regret is I didnt buy a Bosch which I had before. Now *that* is an excellent machine and worth every penny.

This dryer is pretty useless. It takes between 6-9 hours to dry the most basic sheets and towels. Ive tried all different cycles and Ive tried full loads and closer to empty loads. Nothing changes the fact that it takes forever for anything to dry.

Would not recommend this dryer.

Would not recommend. Takes 3+ hours to dry typically needs more than one cycle. Slow and not efficient. The worse part is the lint trap which will catch anything with a drawstring and twist it until it destroys your clothes.
