I purchased an LG high capacity washing machine a little over a year ago brand new out of the box the first washer didnt shut off flooded my basement called Lowes and a new was replaced within a week now after approximately 10 months later the flow valve stuck open and flooded my basement again. I wrote a letter to the President and for 2 weeks I waited for a response when I got one I had already paid 100.00 for the new part I asked if it was under warranty and instead they send a Tech. out to look at it after I said Ive already fixed it just reimburse my 100.00 and Id be happy

Ive only had this wasing machine a month so that is the reason for only 3 stars......I bought it to replace a LG washer from 2011. I dont like the new LG washer control panel but that is just my preference and doesnt affect how the machine works. The quality of the machine seems cheaper than my old model too but I looked at several manufacturers and it seems all the new appliances are less than in quality of materials used to make them so I guess that is just the sign of the times however in my opinion the LG seemed sturdier. I do like the ability to add more water if I choose. When The washer says 60 minutes it means 60 minutes my old washer would go for like 2 hours but say 15 min left. It fills much faster than my old machine which I like.

Stainless steel washer tub is a lie

My honest review is that I thought LG made a quality washing machine. I was wrong The stainless steel tub is plastic on the bottom After about three months the plastic washer plate started flaking off its metallic coating and I went to Lowes to complain and they told me to call LG. After finally getting a person on the phone at LG and explaining the situation I was told to run washing machine cleaner through my machine three times The person I talked to thought that the flaking at the bottom of my washer was actually dried on detergent. After cleaning the washer three times there was no change. After several more phone calls to customer service I was connected with someone who ordered a technician to repair the machine. Two days before the technician was to show up at my house I received a text message that LG would not cover the repair because it was cosmetic damage not mechanical. Because it is not a mechanical problem it is not covered by the one year warranty. When the technician called and I told him that the repair would not be covered by warranty he told me it would be $350 for parts and labor to change out the washer plate. Needless to say I will never ever buy an LG washer again

I just love this washer

Ive been using this wonderful washer for a month and I still cant get over how well it cleans I like the different settings including Speed Wash which is perfect for those items such as newly purchased items that need freshening up. I have had this washer for about 2 months. The first few weeks were great then it started to make a very loud grinding noise. I contacted Lowes as I purchased their extended warranty on the washing machine and they directed me to LG as the machine is still under manufacture warranty. I have spoken to four 4 different customer service personnel each telling me something different and none willing to send someone to repair the washer. The last call earlier this week lasting 1 hour and 20 minutes ended with LG saying it was installed incorrectly and the installer needs to come back out. It was installed correctly is firmly level on the floor and I am beyond frustrated with LG and their lack of customer service. The washing machine does a good job as long as you do not mind it being so loud that you can hear it anywhere in the house.

A little too noisy

This washer is a lot nosier than I was expecting. The pump during the rinse cycle is loud. I had a similar LG model before this one and it was not this loud. Also the liquid soap dispenser always fills with water during the rinse cycle so I have to empty the water before doing the next load. Aside from the noise it does a great job washing the clothes.

Uses way too much water

Seems to clean well but the amount of water this washer uses is absurd My water bill has drastically increased since purchasing this washer. So not only did I have to pay for a new washer its now costing me even more to use it. I thought new appliances were supposed to be more efficient. Where is the efficiency with this one?? I do not recommend and wouldnt purchase again. Consumer reports got this one wrong The song notification this washer plays is very annoying. What happened to a nice beep. Cycle times are also very long. You could put in the exact same items and one time you get a 25min cycle and the next time 43 minutes. Very inconsistent

Bought this 3 weeks ago and love using it. I have used the bedding cycle and was so nice to not have to go in and rearrange bedding as it would off set washer. This is such a great machine that it syncs to your phone so you know when the wash is done. The washer has many different cycles not sure if Ill use them all.

I recently purchased this washer 1 week ago. It uses so much water to clean the clothes. Thats the first thing I noticed. Clothes are not as clean as my previous washer I had and it uses more water. The soap dispenser is always full of water. It has a loud noise while washing. Not a quiet wash. Would not recommend this washer to anyone. LG knows this is a piece of crap. Horrible purchase.

Good features but have a problem

Had we not had the following issue I would have given a 5 star rating. I bought this washer a year ago to replace our LG front load that worked very well for 12+ years. The new one had been a good washer and was fine until about 3 weeks ago. It started getting an E6 error code which says there could be a clutch issue. I followed the instructions of checking between the pulsator and tub for a foreign object. It is all clear but the washer still does the error code from time to time. I feel like it could be the control board being the issue comes and goes but I havent had it checked. It is barely out of the 1 year warranty so I am holding off on getting service out there. A service call plus parts is probably more than I want to spend on it. We will see how it goes from here.

A great washer with lots of features

I bought this washer to replace an older washer that no longer worked. I wanted some of the features I had on my older model - delay start large wash capacity top load with a window lid - and after some research found that LG was a reliable brand known for quality and had a washer with my wishes. The washer has performed beautifully The tub capacity is huge in fact the tub is quite deep so if youre very short you might have to use a step stool to reach the bottom of the tub. The feature choices are extensive so you can pretty much tailor each load to what you need. The Normal load seems like it wont have enough water to cover the clothes but once they start moving around the water covers them. This washer is very economical as to water usage. When you first start the load the Normal shows almost an hour but once it spins the dry load for a few seconds the time adjusts based on the amount of items in the load. For me the Normal usually self-adjusts to about 30 minutes for an average load of mixed clothing and to about 38 minutes for towels. If you want more water you can either choose Deep Wash or More Water. This model has smart features which enable the user to link the washer to a smart phone app to manage the washer. I didnt choose to do this. Note - if youre going to want to use the smart features capture the QR code before your washer is installed if its going into a tight space. The QR code is on the back of the machine.

Replacing a similar LG washer that lasted 3 yrs

So far this has been a good washing machine for the first 3 weeks. This new LG is replacing a very similar LG washer that began squeaking in year 3 and unfortunately the repairs did not solve the problem. We are hoping to get more than three years out of this second LG washer unit. Really like the features ease of operation capacity and it cleans well.

I always love LG products. This washer is big enough for the whole family to use. It is quiet and energetic but this time deliverer took the box off and forgot water hose. We have to buy our own.

So far Im very pleased with the washer. Normal loads are complete in an hour and its much quieter than my old machine. Also its huge so I do less loads.

Broken clutch

You need to redesign the clutch. I have stripped some teeth out of a clutch that is less than a year old. The O-ring seal also leaks. It is supposed to be replaced next week. Nine months old.

Wont handle large loads

We bought the washer because it was large capacity. But when we try to wash large loads or heavy bedding we often get a IE error code and the machine shuts down. LG customer support was not particularly helpful. It seems to work great for small loads. I have cleaned the water filters which had some buildup but otherwise the water input is unobstructed.

I bought this on a recommendation from my washing machine repair man. Its still brand new but I like it already. Very quiet cleans clothes well. Easy to fill detergent dispenser.

Loving my new LG washer. It works perfectly is easy to understand and the price was very reasonable. I have the 5.5 cubic washer and it allows me to wash my familys clothes with few loads.
