Don't buy unless you get an extended warranty

fridge died at 4 years. thank goodness for the extended warranty purchased, samsung warrant long expired. 3 evap coils and compressor failed, so said the technician. parts and labor over $1200 had same issues with icemaker, as noted by others. fridge looks great, performed until it did not preform. as for value, it is rated low because it failed so early for such an expensive item. samsung warranty was only 1 year.

was so excited when first purchased 09/18 - just loved it. but after several months ice maker froze up/stopped producing ice. had it replaced but slow making ice and kept freezing up. this is not a inexpensive refrigerator and cannot believe as of 10/21 - i am without a refrigerator. service tech thought it was compressor/bought new one but cannot be repaired - freon leak inside unit. also having issue with washer/dryer units wf50a8800av/dvg50a8800v) i bought - 07/21 that are suppose to be wifi enabled (operate from anywhere). no help from samsung on issue tried several times. have never been able to access wireless (days/wks before return calls).

26 months and the motors failed for the refrigerator and freezer. if you decide to buy make sure yo7nge5 an extended warranty for larts amd labor as this is junk build and will fail. they have no interest in paying for the food destroyed let alone standing by their parts - be warned.

Great for 5 years then died-1.5 mnths to dx

i loved this fridge. with separate fans for three compartment my ethylene producing fruits in lower right, set at chill/beverage didn't reduce life of greens in the top. greens lasted longer than any fridge ever owned. 1.5 months to diagnose to compressor was irreparable. i did replace with 4 door with ice in bottom and now a 10 year warranty on compressors. good.

This fridge is a disaster and the service is worse

I bought this high-end fridge in 2016 with many other Samsung appliances as I like the design. While it had several issues early on (frozen-over evaporator coils and stuck icemaker), now it's not cooling anymore because of a sealed system issue. Samsung initially told me that they will refund the unit but after several weeks of back and forth with their repair service provider decided to pulled back as the unit was just out of the 5 year warranty by then. Disappointing.

Great Fridge/Horrible ice maker

i purchased this fridge brand new off the floor, it was discounted because it was a floor model, so trying to save a few. the fridge has worked great for 2 years but the ice maker hasnt worked since day 1. i have read a thousand reveiws with the same problem, but since i bought mine as a floor model they consider it refurbished or not a new purchase samsung will not honor the warranty, so beware, the ice maker sucks and if you buy it new as a floor model they wont cover the wrtanty.

Horrible product - Ice Maker

the ice maker stopped working after 3 years. even when it was working it would ice-over every 3-4 weeks and would have to be thawed with an incredibly irritating (fd) process and beeping noise. the repair kit is ~$200, labor probably another $150; for $350-$400 i'm just going to buy another refrigerator (though not a samsung). good luck if you have this product.

loved the fridge. the flex zone was great for kids to reach in when toddlers for their stuff. 3.5 yrs in and top of fridge doesn't keep cool. 5 fridge repair people called and no one repairs samsung. everyone on social group with same issue says same thing, just buy new fridge. my previous fridge lasted 22 yrs. 3.5 yrs at this price point is ridiculous.

i was very happy to have my refrigerator fixed last year. i had your service company out a few times and it seemed like it was finally fixed. however, over the weekend, the ice maker stopped making ice. i restarted the ice maker, that did nothing. i unplugged the refrigerator and this did nothing. i had replaced the filter a couple months ago, but i did it again to see if that was it. it's still not making ice. my wife and i are so disappointed that this $4,000.00 fridge can not successfully make ice constantly without an issue. once again, can you please send someone out to fix this, again...

Head the warnings about defective ice maker

we have had our refrigerator for 2 years. just before the 1yr warranty expired the ice maker had to be replaced, another yr later after the warranty expired it needs replaced again (a $500 part + service charge). based on related posts, samsung should recall this product and resolve the ice maker issues w/o putting the repeating cost to repair/maintain upon their customers.

$3000 Piece of JUNK

the only thing this refrigerator has going for it is its looks. like all samsung french door refrigerators, we can't use the ice-maker in this one because it will freeze up and inevitably needs to be defrosted once a week. i did not anticipate that a $3000 refrigerator would operate like this after the warranty expired. i would never recommend a samsung refrigerator to anyone. what makes matter worse for me is that i have two of these (my other one has the middle deli drawer and the bottom is a full freezer drawer 0 for some reason you can no longer do a review of that one. hmmmm). i have googled this product and can't believe how many other people have the same problem. samsung may make good televisions but they cannot make good appliances.

Working Ice Maker

bought the refrigerator 3 years ago. the ice maker started freezing up with in the first 4 months. we purchased the extended warranty so a service person was sent out. not a good feeling when the surface man says " it is a samsung so even after i do the recommended service bulletins it is still going to freeze up". the tech put in all new ice maker and fan in the back along with some clips on the refrigerator tube which was supposed to fix the problem. 3 month latter and all frozen up again. got a tech every 3 months until extended warranty expired. then i became proficient with a hair dryer at defrosting it every few months. non panel is blinking "65 c" and none of the buttons work on the control panel. for such an expensive refrigerator i got there years of nothing but problems.

Great fridge;needs some better features

we love the interior of the fridge. the flex space is perfect and we decided to use that entire space as our fruit and vegetable area. it's great! we really like the interior handles vs. big handles on the exterior. we chose the black stainless hoping for the benefits of stainless--lower fingerprints on the exterior. however, the entire handle area is clean, shiny metal and/or plastic, which defeats the whole purpose of black stainless on the exterior doors. the square flat areas on the handle area are also difficult to clean. we like the fridge but don't appreciate the amount of time we have to spend wiping it down every day--and we don't even have children at home. the icemaker is lightweight too. a little pricey, but in general though, a nice fridge.

I love this refrigerator and the flexibility the four compartments afford you. Since we own a separate freezer I use the flex space for deli meat and drinks. Who doesn't love an ice cold beer or refreshing soda? It fits perfectly in the space and the stainless finish is easy to keep clean. I liked it so much I got my Mother one.

Love the FlexZone feature and phone alert!

We have loved this refrigerator since day one! The open space inside the upper area is wonderful. The adjustable shelves, great lighting, all of the door space, have all be super helpful with a young family of four. We have especially enjoyed the FlexZone feature of the bottom doors. Being able to utilize the lower right door as a "mini fridge" for the children's snacks and drinks is great! However, if we didn't have a separate deep freeze, only having a small "mini" freezer wouldn't work out so well. The only drawback has been the ice maker. It was great for about a year, then it started freezing up and not working. It gets used a lot so to have it leak, or freeze up and not work at all is a pain.

Nice Fridge!

This is a great refrigerator! We needed a new one a couple years ago because our old one broke down. We got a really good deal on this one. I like how the doors open and how the freezer door is so separate. I also like how there is a section that can either be a fridge or freezer. This fridge has great features! This refrigerator has been such a disappointment. I thought spending $4,000 on the refrigerator that my ice maker wouldn't die. I'm so jealous my friends have $1,000 refrigerators and they have ice all the time. I do like having the ability to make the refrigerator mostly a refrigerator and I only need a tiny portion for the freezer. Or if I need to expand the freezer I can. That's its only saving grace.

Door in door without the glass!

My favorite feature is the door in door without the glass. I love the door in door feature but was very disappointed that I could not find a counter depth model without the glass, it is much more attractive without it. Freezer is not working

this a very nice looking refrigerator, the flexzone is super cool, but it is not very reliable at all, after 3000+ dollars and 3 years the freezer stop working, the ice maker is awful as well. i have a whirlpool for 13+ years, still have it and never have a problem with anything. i just gave you a try samsung but now i regret.

this refrigerator is beautiful and i love the sleeknees of it but it has to be one of the most flawed designs when it comes to the ice maker. why would you put the ice maker in the refrigerator? the ice maker unit ice's up and gets frosty so bad that the ice won't drop into the bin and then it continues to clog up. we watched a couple of youtube videos and it suggested that we silicone around the exterior of the ice maker to avoid warmer air to seep through. we did that but it hasn't helped. and now, the darn ice maker isn't working at all and i believe there is so much ice built up inside the unit where we can't see it that it can't function. i am so disappointed with this product that i will never buy a samsung appliance again.

absolutely the worst fridge i have ever owned. ice maker freezes up every year and is a factory defect. where is the recall? also when you open the doors the touch the cabinets/trim around fridge which prevents you from setting the fridge flush with the cabinets, this defeats the purpose to buy a counter depth fridge. i hate this fridge and will never buy another.

Consistent Malfunctions

we've owned the 4 door flex frig about 2 yrs. we absolutely love the design! being able to have the extra frig space in flex door is perfect for my family. i hate the design of freezers that are drawers so this frig is just perfect by design. but unfortunately this frig has major malfunctions. just like other reviewers, we've had our ice maker quit working twice in the first 2 years and had to have new ice makers. we had the last ice maker repair a year ago and last month the ice maker, freezer compartment, and flex compartment quit working! all three will randomly work correctly then thaw/warm up. in the last month, we've had a new ice maker, new "motherboard", and new fan put in and it's still not working!

have had numerous repair attempts to get ice maker to stop freezing over, requiring monthly defrosting. nothing has worked. samsung has done nothing to resolve. i totally regret now having purchased all samsung matching black stainless steel kitchen appliances because replacing refrigerator with another brand and still having matching appliances will be a challenge. very unhappy with samsung. do not buy this refrigerator.

cheap parts, expensive price tag. within 3-4 months, cracked produce drawer and rail (plastic piece broken) as well as a piece on the slide shelf. horrible plastic parts and may not be covered??

I bought this refrigerator two years ago. In my opinion, it's still new, it's been well taken care of. The ice maker has already quit working and now I have found areas where the black stainless is flaking off! I am not pleased and I would not recommend this product, the only thing I can say is it's beautiful.

We bought this refrigerator about 2 years ago. I month after the first year the compressor went out, thankfully we had an extended warranty. Less than 8 months later, the ice maker and freezer went out again. 6 weeks after repairing it started making noise again. This time 2 evaporators were fixed. Now about 1 month later its starting to make loud noises again, will most likely go out again. After our 5 year warranty is over will buy a new refrigerator but will NOT be a Samsung.

Nice Fridge but Terrible Ice Maker

I love this fridge, but I've had constant problems with the ice maker. It drips water constantly. I had it replaced under warranty and within 3 months it was making slushy ice. I have two friends with this and they have the same issue. Water is always coming out of the ice dispenser and the floor is constantly wet. Seems like a design flaw that they may not have a fix for.
